Esquimalt Buccaneers Senior Men’s AA Hockey Team

The Esquimalt Buccaneers Senior Men’s AA Hockey Team is committed to building a competitive, respectful, and community-driven hockey program that reflects the pride, character, and spirit of Esquimalt. Our mission is to provide a high-quality hockey environment where players can continue to compete at an elite amateur level while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, personal accountability, and community engagement.

We strive to create a culture of excellence both on and off the ice. Through dedication, discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement, we aim to compete at the highest standard of Senior AA hockey. Every player, coach, and volunteer is expected to contribute to an environment that promotes hard work, integrity, and mutual respect. Success is measured not only by wins and championships, but also by the positive impact we have on our teammates, supporters, and the broader community.

As representatives of Esquimalt, we recognize the importance of serving as role models for young athletes and hockey fans. The Esquimalt Senior Men’s AA Hockey Team is proud to uphold the traditions of Canadian hockey while embracing the evolving values of the modern game. Our Purpose: To compete with excellence, lead with integrity, strengthen our community, and proudly represent Esquimalt through the game of hockey.

OUR HISTORY

The Esquimalt Buccaneers are entering their first season in the WCSHL. During the years proceeding the 1980’s, there was plenty of senior hockey played at the ” ARCH ” in Esquimalt. In 1981, the last Victoria team to win the Coy Cup was the Victoria Athletics. Many fans will remember the exciting games that were held at Archie Browning during those years. We would like to bring back the enthusiasm and the fan support that was there during those years.

OUR HOME

All of our home games will be played at the Archie Browning Sports Center at 1151 Esquimalt Road, in Esquimalt. Because Archie is being renovated presently, our first home game will no be until Dec 5, 2026. We will be on the road for games during October, and November. OUR LEAGUE

The Buccaneers proudly are a member of the WCSHL. Our League has been developed to provide Minor hockey, Junior hockey, College and Pro players to continue to compete at a higher level. There are now five teams in our League and the Champion can compete for the Coy Cup in British Columbia. There are approximately 20 Senior AA Men’s teams in BC.
